HISTORICAL DESCRIPTION
CERAMICA ALBERDI, A 101 YEARS HISTORY
Cerámica Alberdi S.A.Everything started in 1899 when four immigrants who were living in Rosario settled the foundations of a company that later in 1907 was called "Factory Ceramica Alberdi S.A.". This company was born because of the lack of ceramic materials in the Argentine market.
Fábrica Cerámica Alberdi S.A. Rosario As time went by technological innovations raised different transformations leading to the current conformation of the company.
1946: a ceramic red floors production of 360,000 m2 per year was reached in the Rosario factory.
1947: a new industrial factory manufacturing ceramic bricks and roof tiles was settled in San Jose de Guaymallen, Mendoza province.
1948: a new industrial factory manufacturing ceramic red floors was settled in Jose C. Paz, Buenos Aires province.
1968: Jose C. Paz factory manufacturing conditions underwent major changes. Addition of pressing technology allowed to reach a ceramic red floors production of 2,400,000 m2 per year.
1982: technology for manufacturing 480,000 m2 per year of ceramic enameled floors was added.
1984: a new industrial factory was settled in Rosario for the manufacture of ceramic hollow bricks. The production capability was 72,000 tons per year.
A DAY BEFORE AND A DAY AFTER
Cerámica AlberdiIn 1994 the company ownership changed. Dr. Martin Rappallini Jr. was named President of the company, being Lic. Ignacio Rappallini the CEO and Martin A. Rappallini Sr. the main shareholder. At the same time, a very important investment process - focused in technifying and expanding Ceramica Alberdi's productive capability - got started.
Since then:
Alberdi both Rosario factories were completely automated in 1995.
a new, last generation furnace for the manufacture of 1,800,000 m2 per year of ceramic enameled floors was added in 1996.
a second furnace was added in 1998 in order to increase the production capability up to 3,600,000 m2 per year.
production capability was increased even more in 1999 - up to 4,800,000 m2 per year.
Cerámica Alberdi - Quality for life in the year 2000 Ceramica Alberdi was granted with the IRAM - IACC - ISO E 9002 Certification.
in 2002 Ceramica Alberdi incorporated a humidity milling system, replacing the actual technology.
in 2004 the company incorporated a third furnace, for the manufacture of floors of porcelanatto, with a capacity of production of 3,600,000 m2 annual
in 2005 the company is making a new investment, to duplicate the capacity of production of its hollow brick plant of Rosario, in two stages.
in 2006 finished the first stage of the ceramic hollow brick factory, which started to work in April.
CERAMICA ALBERDI S.A. - with high productive ratios resulting from its automation level - is a pride for the Argentine ceramics industry. The corporative purpose in this new millenium is to keep on growing in order to reach the place the company's history deserves.
